Dr. Strange
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Game Play:
Survivor-like action, but no auto-fire — you draft 3 keybound skills and chain your own combo while hunting the Portal to the boss.
Lore:
You were a well-known doctor. One day, you got hit by a car...
And sadly, you died.
Luckily, you respawned in a strange dimension with one new ability: you can shrink to micro size.
You get excited thinking a single cake could feed you for years!
then you realize that at micro size, you’re so small you can’t even take a bite...
Sitting there starving in front of normal-sized food, you finally realize the only thing you have left is your skill set — you open a clinic.
If people are willing to pay, you shrink down and deliver the only kind of “treatment” this world rewards: fighting the viruses inside the patient.
Core Idea
Manual combat (no auto-fire): aim + spacing actually matters.
Build your combo: choose skills for 3 fixed keys + passives on level up.
Jam run: explore → find the Portal → fight the Boss → run ends.
Controls:
Support for both controller and keyboard!
WASD: move
LMB: attack
RMB / Shift / Space: Skill Slots (you draft skills into these)
Esc: pause
I’d love feedback on
Bugs / weird interactions
Difficulty (too easy / too unfair?)
Does the combo system feel smooth or clunky?
Run length (too short / too long?)
Visual clarity (can you read what’s happening?)
Jam Build Notes
This jam build is a single-zone run for now: the Portal is the end-of-run objective after the boss.
After enter the portal, will restart the game.
Next (if I continue)
More upgrades & weapons: more build variety and combo options.
Multi-zone runs + proper portal transitions: go from zone to zone instead of ending after the boss.
Between-run progression + map selection: out-game-loop of permanent upgrades and choosing the next zone after each run.
More status effects: things like freeze, armor ignore, etc.
Inspiration
Totally inspired by games I really enjoy!
- Megabonk — horde + leveling feel,
- Risk of Rain 2 — the portal-hunt pacing,
- Hades — run-changing upgrades
- League of Legends — ability-kit rhythm and timing.
